Rachel’s research combines perspectives from the sociology of science, science and technology studies (STS), and higher education policy and governance. Her research centres on understanding how research policies work on different levels — globally, nationally, and within institutions — and how these policies shape the production of knowledge and collaborative research within the changing academic vocation. Her primary interests include the politics of global knowledge production, research funding, higher education governance, transnational and interdisciplinary collaboration, and the shifting contours of science diplomacy and research security.
