The Mboum people have practiced male circumcision for decades. Until the middle of the last century, male circumcision was highly regarded as a period of initiation leading to a man’s status.

Northwestern Siberia,
A small girl Katerina observes the outer world and understands it. She learns the voices of people, animals and other beings. Gradually she approaches the unknown and the unknown approaches her - not far from Katerina`s nomad camp an oil rig appears.
