The aim is to bring together active Danish researchers, including PhD students and graduate students who have experience with the use of social practice theory and/or  empirical research experience. We will join together in self-critical development-oriented discussion of social practice as historical process - and ways it might affect our research practice.

The seminar is based on Jean Lave's recent article in which she discusses the development of situated learning theory in the quarter century since the publication of Situated Learning in 1991. Jean Lave and many others (including Danish colleagues) work with a social practice theory that integrates Danish critical psychology, with a socially critical, historical, dialectical theory of practice (inspired by Gramsci).

Invited workshop:

The criterion for participation is that you prepare yourself by reading Jean Lave's latest article: "Situated Learning: Historical Process and Practice", and that you have research experience of working within the social practice theory approach. On hand research experience with social practice theory is important, because the workshop is partially organized as group work, where we discuss these experiences in groups and in plenary.

Registration

Registration August 19 at the latest.
