Submission deadline: November 15. 2019 

Submission formats

  1. PhD project in progress paper: timeframe 40 minutes with max 20 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for prepared comment and 10 minutes for discussion + 5 minutes intermission between presentations. This format is mainly for discussions of PhD projects at an advanced stage. PhD projects at an early stage are referred to the PhD seminar (see below).
  2. Senior research paper with commentator: timeframe 40 minutes with max 10 minutes for prepared comment and 10 minutes for discussion + 5 minutes intermission between presentations. This format is mainly for discussions of senior research projects at a not yet completed stage.
  3. Senior research paper without commentator: timeframe 30 minutes with max 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion + 5 minutes for intermission. This format is mainly for discussions of senior papers at a final stage.
  4. Completed PhD projects paper: timeframe 30 minutes (included questions) + 5 minutes intermission between presentations.
  5. Symposium: Several papers may be submitted together indicating an interest to form a symposium. The symposium participants are themselves responsible for engaging and involve a discussant that gets papers in beforehand. Timeframe 90 minutes in total.
  6. Round Table discussion: Submitted papers for this format will be grouped according to relevant themes, 2020 the main theme is “The topology of music education as a field of researches, policies and practices. Timeframe: 15 minutes presentation for each contribution and 30 minutes common discussion. A discussion facilitator will read the abstracts in beforehand

Discussants will be appointed for paper presentations of PhD projects in progress as well as for senior research papers. Regarding symposia and round table discussion, see above.

PhD seminar 2.-3. Of March, 2020

Preceding the conference, a PhD seminar will take place at the same venue. The site hosts at campus Emdrup will design the format of the seminar.

Deadline for submissions:

  • Please submit an abstract (minimum 500 to maximum 1000 words without references) indicating your preferred presentation format no later than November 15, 2019 at the conference website. Upon acceptance the abstract will be published on the conference website / printed in the proceedings.
  • Notification of acceptance will be emailed to presenters latest by December 15, 2019.
  • For paper presentations, there is a possibility to develop the abstract to a paper (maximum 4000 words including references). Developed abstract/short paper should be sent to your commentator no later than February 1st, 2020.
  • Please indicate clearly the preferred presentation format of your submission and whether the presentation is submitted for the PhD seminar or for the conference.

The conference language in all sessions is English. Preliminary program and further information about the conference will be announced in newsletters and on the conference web site
