The Policy Futures of Intersectionality and Diversity

Keynote: Ann Phoenix, Dorthe Staunæs, John Krejsler and Nina Lykke

March 19, 2021

The Policy Research program hosted an international webinar on The policy futures of intersectionality and diversity.

Our keynotes Professor Ann Phoenix, Professor Nina Lykke, Professor John Krejsler and Professor Dorthe Staunæs provided inspiring and insightful perspectives on different ways of approaching intersectionality and how intersectionality can inform methodologies on policy and diversity and contribute to possible (policy) futures.

The webinar was a celebration of the appointment of two honorary professors at DPU, Ann Phoenix  (Professor of Psychosocial Studies at the Department of Social Science, UCL Institute of Education) and Nina Lykke (Professor Emerita of Gender Studies with special reference to Gender and Culture at the Unit of Gender Studies, Linköping University, Sweden).

Ann Phoenix research is mainly about social identities and the ways in which psychological experiences and social processes are linked and intersectional. This includes work on racialised and gendered identities; family lives and home; migration and transnational families.

Nina Lykke’s research centers on the geopolitics of cancer, critical patienthood studies, queer widowhood, death, mourning and spirituality in queerfeminist materialist and decolonial perspectives.
