Abstract:
This talk will explore why some innovative universities struggle and/or remain relatively unknown, while others not only thrive but also influence other higher education institutions. Dara will examine factors of influence across three dimensions: narratives—stories told about and within universities; leadership—ranging from senior institutional leaders to faculty; and policy. Three innovative universities—Maastricht University, the Asian University for Women, and the African Leadership University—will serve as examples, illustrating how these elements shape their trajectory and impact.
