Research questions on educational effectiveness and inequalities in the education system are in many ways intertwined. This research programme studies them in an integrated way.
Of interest are conditions for equal and effective learning on the individual and classroom level, e.g. in relation to didactical approaches, and on the level of institutions and policies. The programme integrates a range of disciplinary backgrounds such as psychology, sociology, linguistics and didactics.
Researchers use advanced quantitative methods. This includes both primary experimental data collection and the secondary analyses of existing data sources, such as register data, data from large scale international assessments as well as ‘big data’ in the form of digital data sources and text data.
