This conference will provide a forum for sharing research findings, regional experiences in implementing lifelong learning strategies through national capacity building, and for developing new knowledge through effective communication between researchers and policymakers in the field. The specific objectives of the conference are:

- To create an open space for sharing the latest research findings, ideas and developments in legislative, financial and organizational frameworks for supporting lifelong learning in different countries in the two regions;

- To identify issues of the existing infrastructure in diverse socio-cultural and geopolitical contexts, which hinder or facilitate the development of ?lifelong learning skills for all?;

- To strengthen linkages between researchers and policy makers of the two regions in order to develop future strategies for enhancing the implementation of lifelong learning initiatives.
