ICILS – the International Computer and Information Literacy Study

About ICILS

Denmark is taking part in the International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS). The ICILS was initiated by the IEA (the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement), and the Danish studies will be carried out by the Danish School of Education, Aarhus University.

The ICILS examines the competences of pupils with regard to using computers to study, create and communicate with a view to making a qualified contribution at home, at school, in the workplace and in society. Computer and information competences comprise both practical-technical skills and the cognitive ability to achieve communicative goals.

The most recent ICILS study was ICILS 2013, the results of which were published in November 2014.
