VIDA Research Affiliations

VIDA is a collaborative research project between the Department of Education (DPU), the Department of Economics and Business, and the Danish Clearinghouse for Educational Research at Aarhus University, University College South Denmark (UCSyd), University College Lillebælt, (UCL), and University College of Northern Denmark (UCN). Certain tasks have been subcontracted to the opinion research institute Epinion.

Aarhus University:

Bente Jensen
Professor, PhD, Department of Education (DPU), Aarhus University, Project Manager  
Her primary research interests are socially disadvantaged children, the qualifications and learning of pedagogical staff, competence development and innovation. Bente functioned as Head of Research and Project Manager of the research project “Handlekompetence i pædagogisk arbejde med udsatte børn og unge – indsats og effekt” (HPA) [Action Competences in Pedagogical Work with Socially at Risk Children and Young people – intervention and effect” (ASP) (2005-2009). Programe director for the VIDA programme (2010-2013).

Ulrik Brandi
Associate Professor, PhD, Department of Education (DPU), Aarhus University. 
Ulrik conducts research into workplace learning, and organizational learning and change with particular focus on interdisciplinary partnerships in the field of socially disadvantaged children and young people. His involvement in VIDA concerns the application of theories about organizational learning and innovation, as well as the application of qualitative studies.

Peter Jensen
Professor, PhD, Department of Economics and Business, Aarhus University. Peter’s research is within the fields of Empirical Labour Economics, Micro Econometrics,  and Economics of Education. He has been a member of the Economic Study Council and Director of the Graduate School for Integration, Production and Welfare. In VIDA, Peter is involved in the quantitative analysis of effects. Astrid Würtz Rasmussen
Postdoctoral researcher, PhD, Department of Economics and Business, Aarhus University. Astrid’s research is within the fields of Labour Economics, Economics of the Family, and Education and she participates in projects including Daycare and Children´s Long-term Outcomes, and Family Structure and Child Outcomes. In VIDA, Astrid is involved in the quantitative analysis of effects. For further information

Peter Berliner
Professor MSO, Department of Education (DPU), Aarhus University.
Peter has conducted research into parental programmes in Greenland, for traumatized refugee families in Denmark, and in communities and families in disaster and restoration contexts, particularly in the Middle East and Latin America. He is a member of the International Red Cross psychosocial support group and of the Danish Commission for Scientific Research in Greenland. His contribution to VIDA concerns the parental programme. 

Dorte Kousholt
Associate Professor, PhD, Department of Education (DPU), Aarhus University 
Dorte’s research area is the everyday life of children and families, as well as the collaboration with day-care and school/after-school centres. She acted as project manager of the Danish research project "Børns og forældres perspektiver på familiearbejde" [Children’s and parents’ views on family work] (2007-2009). She participated in the research project "På tværs af familiearbejde og inklusion i skolen" [Across family work and inclusion in school] (2007-2010). Her contribution to VIDA concerns the parental programme.

Michael Søgaard Larsen
Associate Professor, PhD, Danish Clearinghouse for Educational Research, DPU, Aarhus University. 
Michael investigates evidence production in pedagogical research and participates in VIDA as responsible for the Clearinghouse research review on parent programmes (2011).

Ib Ravn
Associate Professor, PhD, Department of Education (DPU), Aarhus University 
Ib designs and conducts research on methods for " Facilitating Knowledge Processes," and has co-authored the book Learning Meetings and Conferences in Practice as well as many other publications concerning knowledge and society. He contributes to the project with the planning of intensive facilitated learning processes for managers.

Nina Tange
Special consultant, M.Sc., Department of Education (DPU), Aarhus University 
Nina is a skilled change agent, and in collaboration with researchers, she has implemented changes processes in many public as well as private organizations and enterprises. Her primary fields of expertise are facilitation and coaching as tools for learning. She participates in the project by assisting the planning and execution of facilitated learning processes for managers.

 

Danish University Colleges:

Ove Steiner Rasmussen (UCSyd)
Associate Professor in general pedagogy at UC South Denmark,  as well as the Development and Research Department in Haderslev and the Knowledge Centre for General Pedagogy and Dissemination. He has developed a new paradigm in general pedagogy for the pre-school and after-school club context. It is based on a taxonomy and qualification of institutions’ general educational role concerning theory, didactics, and research. He contributes to the professional development elements in the VIDA programme.

Karen Stougaard

Associate Professor, cand. pæd. psyk, Department of Continuing Professional Development – Education and Learning, UC Lillebælt. Karen works in areas including Society and Special Needs Education, the Individual and Special Needs Education, and Social Inclusion. She coordinates modules, teaches and tutors in the professional development programme. She contributes to the professional development elements in the VIDA programme.

Kristina Kristoffersen

Area Manager for Act2learn Pedagogy at UC Northern Denmark. Kristina heads the overall professional development programme at UC Northern Denmark within the fields of education and health. She works with strategical development, educational development, administration and human resources. She contributes to the professional development elements in the VIDA programme.

Camilla Wang
Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education at Metropolitan University College. Camilla’s role in the project concerns the development of models for partnerships for embedding and implementing the research-based knowledge generated by the experiences from the VIDA project.
