My PhD project focuses on reports of concern made by Danish public schools. More specifically, the project explores how processes involving reports of concern transform the relational and institutional conditions for pupils’ participation in teaching and classroom communities, both before and after a report is made.
The project is motivated by the fact that the number of reports of concern has increased year by year, while there remains limited knowledge of what actually happens in everyday school life when a report of concern is made. The project can therefore contribute to a more precise understanding of reports of concern as a practice that helps shape the conditions for pupils’ participation.
My research interests include practices surrounding reports of concern, social work, the inclusion of children’s perspectives, school–home collaboration, and interprofessional collaboration.
