This presentation focuses on the econometrics of education and the contemporary 'university of measure', at once entrepreneurial, globalizing and convergent. I focus in particular on the 'built pedagogy' of new university environments, evident in state-of-the-art buildings, modeled by the Cube at Queensland University of Technology, RMIT's Design Hub in Melbourne or the College of Design, Engineering and Commerce at Philadelphia University. What do these new structures tell us about the forces driving university education? Given the digital basis, and human deficit, of university architectonics, I ask whether there are other grounds – historical, geographical and social – on which the university, and our shared social futures, might be situated?

Admission to the seminar is free .

Arranged by the Research Programme EPOKE.
