Private sector involvement in education is by no means a new phenomenon. However, a few features of today’s education industry are novel and deserve reflection and debate. Professor Gita Steiner-Khamsi presents a few interesting insights from the forthcoming volume “The Global Education Industry” (edited by Antoni Verger, Christopher Lubienski, Gita Steiner-Khamsi; to be published by Routledge in January 2016) and places them in the overall context of standards-based educational reform.
