The issue of how institutional differentiation – such as for example the creation of new university types (university colleges) has affected university attendance and inequality will also be discussed. Finally, the contours of Reimer’s future research agenda which will focus on the role of contextual factors (such as for example the school climate) at the transition from school to higher education will be presented.
