An exchange of ideas on the education and formation of citizens and democratic persons between:

Professor Henrietta Moore, Dr Nick Long, Dr Sian Lazar, Dr Alex Flynn from the Department of Anthropology, Cambridge University

and Professor Susan Wright, Dr Jens Erik Kristensen, Dr Søren Christensen, Dr Laura Gilliam, Dr Eva Gulløv, Dr Sally Andersen, Dr Gritt Nielsen, Dr Karen Valentin from DPU and Visiting Professor Bradley Levinson, Indiana University

The papers have three cross-cutting themes:

· ‘Dannelse’ and ‘personhood’.

· Diagnosis of changes to historical concepts of democracy and citizenship in Denmark.

· Comparisons between education, citizenship and democratic personhood in Brazil, Kenya, Indonesia, Argentina, and Denmark.

The conference is free and open to all academic staff and students
