At Auckland University, an URGE group has formed and has been meeting regularly to hold academic discussions about developments in New Zealand universities in the light of the work of the URGE project, its workshops and publications. A symposium was held on 6-7 November 2012 which, in seven sessions, involved most participants giving presentations of different aspects of the changing role, organisation and meaning of the public university in New Zealand. Three members of DPU, Aarhus University, on URGE exchange visits, also presented their work. This addition to the URGE programme of workshops was a great way for the Danish visitors to feel welcomed, to meet URGE participants in New Zealnd and become integrated into their dscussions.
