Berit Eika leads the educational committee at Aarhus University that strategically overlooks the student´s journey from recruitment over teaching towards their first job. This has involved among other things, extended cooperation with secondary schools, the establishment of a quality assurance system, and the formation of a dual career program for student athletes and student start-ups.

This webinar will have three parts. First we will consider the breadth of the remit facing universities in their ambition to engage students in research-led education. Second, we will discuss what kinds of standards are needed that will enhance, rather than hinder, universities in fulfilling this ambition. Third we will explore possible ways to form ‘communities of practice’ that involve students and academics as well as leaders and policy makers in developing such standards.


The webinar is hosted by CHEF and is part of a series to discuss the paper Re-imagining Research-led Education in a Digital Age. This paper is produced by The Guild, a network of 21 research intensive universities uniting with the purpose of collaboration and influencing EU Policy.
